The Parenti Family

Margo and Rob Parenti, parents and educators in the West Hartford School District, had their lives upended in May of 2022 when one of their two sons, Nick, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer.

Later that summer, Friends of Feeney hosted a fundraiser at the Hartford Yard Goats to unite the community and assist the family. Nick, despite being sick, attended the game and was in great spirits, enjoying the opportunity to be among his friends and supporters. Through proceeds raised from the game and other fundraising efforts, Friends of Feeney was able to provide the family over $5,000 to help pay for traetments and other costs they faced during this challenging journey.

Tragically, Nick passed away just a few weeks later at only seven years old. After his passing, the Parenti family became increasingly involved with Friends of Feeney, with Rob joining our Board of Directors, in addition to being elected Treasurer of the City of Bristol. Margo was recently featured in a Hartford Courant article about her running journey, which served as a way to cope with grief after her son's death. 2024 saw the third annual "Friends of Nicholas" fundraiser with the Yard Goats, an opportunity for family, friends, and the community as a whole to come together in honor of his spirit 💚
